Steam, one of the world's largest digital gaming platforms, has released its Hardware and Software Survey data for October 2025. The new report provides key insights into graphics card preferences, CPU market competition, and operating system usage.

On the graphics card side, Nvidia remains the most preferred brand among users. According to the survey, the GeForce RTX 3060 leads with a 4.47% share, although this represents a slight decrease compared to the previous month.
The RTX 3060 is followed by the mobile version, GeForce RTX 4060 Mobile GPU, at 4.17%, and the GeForce RTX 4060 also at 4.17%. Further down the list, the GeForce RTX 3050 holds 3.10%, GeForce GTX 1650 3.05%, and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 2.80%.
Among Nvidia’s next-generation cards, the GeForce RTX 5070 shows a 1.88% usage rate, while the GeForce RTX 5060 registers 1.30%. AMD and Intel’s shares in the graphics card market remain relatively low.
CPU Market Trends
Intel still holds the majority in the CPU market with 57.82%, though this marks a 0.79-point decrease compared to September. AMD, on the other hand, has increased its market share to 42.09%, reaching its highest level in recent years.
This significant rise is driven by strong interest in AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series for desktops and Ryzen AI 300 series for laptops. Core trends are also shifting; six-core CPUs remain the most common at 29.63%, while eight-core models have increased to 25.51%.
Operating System Usage
Windows 11 continues its upward trend, reaching 67.02% in October, up 0.94 points from the previous month. Conversely, Windows 10 declined to 32.83%, while Windows 7 usage has nearly vanished, with a total share of just 0.08%.
Overall, these figures highlight AMD’s growing momentum in the CPU sector and Windows 11’s strengthening dominance in the OS market.
