Unfortunately, MacBook Air keyboards do not have a dedicated "Delete" key.

Instead, the Backspace key serves the function of the Delete key.

To delete files and folders:

  • Select the file or folder you want to delete.
  • Press the Backspace key.
To delete text:

  • Select the text you want to delete.
  • Press the Backspace key.
In some cases, you might need the actual "Delete" key function.
In such cases, hold the Fn key while pressing Backspace. This Fn + Backspace combination mimics the Delete key's function.

Additional Information:

  • The "Insert" key is also not available on MacBook Air. Instead, you can hold the Fn key and press F9.
  • You can check your keyboard settings to assign the Delete function to the Caps Lock key or another key if desired.
I hope this information is helpful. If there are any parts you want to add or remove from this text, please let me know. This guide is also useful for MacBook Pro users who cannot find a dedicated Delete key, as the Backspace key performs the same function.
