🔐 How to Reset WordPress Admin Password? (Easy Method via phpMyAdmin)

Forgot your WordPress admin password?
If password reset via email doesn’t work or you no longer have access to your email, you can easily reset your admin password through phpMyAdmin.
In this guide, we’ll show you step by step how to reset your WordPress password using phpMyAdmin, regardless of whether you use cPanel, Plesk, or another hosting panel.

🔧 Log in to phpMyAdmin from Your Hosting Panel

  • Log in to your hosting control panel (such as cPanel or Plesk).
  • Go to the Databases section and open phpMyAdmin.
  • From the left menu, select the database that belongs to your WordPress site (usually starts with wp_).

👥 Find the wp_users Table (or Your Custom Prefix *_users)

  • In the left sidebar, locate and click on the wp_users table.
  • Find your admin user (usually admin or your chosen username).
  • Click the Edit link at the end of that row.

🔑 Change the Password Using MD5 Format

  • In the form that appears, find the user_pass field.
  • Enter your new password into this field.
  • From the dropdown next to it, select MD5. (This encrypts your password before saving it.)

🔐 Example: Enter NewStrongPassword123 as your new password and select MD5 as the function.

Resetting your WordPress admin password via phpMyAdmin is a very practical method for situations where you don't have email access. However, be careful when performing these operations, as incorrect changes to the database can damage your site. If necessary, don't forget to take a backup before proceeding.
